AV2009 (AV 2009) Descriptions:

AV2009, also known as AV2009.exe or AV 2009, is clearly relating to the notorious Antivirus 2009, which is one of the latest counterfeit antispyware that devastates the Internet community. AV2009 is a clone of the infamous Antivirus 2008 that was previously reported by us. AV2009 usually come up after you installed a video codec that comes with Trojan, malware and virus. AV2009 normally generates fake and misleading system popup error messages so end-users will be tricked into purchasing AV2009.

Manual AV2009 Removal Instructions:

Unregister AV2009 DLL Files:
shlwapi.dll
wininet.dll

Stop AV2009 Processes:
av2009.exe
AV2009.lnk
Uninstall Antivirus.lnk
AV2009.exe.exe

Find and Delete these AV2009:
av2009.exe
AV2009.exe.exe
shlwapi.dll
wininet.dll
AV2009.lnk
Uninstall AV2009.lnk

Remove AV2009 Registry Values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antivirus
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Antivirus
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\”Antivirus” = “%ProgramFiles%\AV2009\Antvrs.exe”

Another option is to boot Windows in safe-mode and run MSCONFIG via command prompt. Check what programs are supposed to run at start-up, along with services, and look for any of the files listed above.
