Recovering Deleted E-mails with Postini

Recovering Deleted E-mails from Postini

Full-time faculty and staff have their e-mail archived for a year through Postini.  Students and part-time employees do not have this feature.

If you wish to retrieve a message that was deleted from your inbox you must login to your Postini account.  To do this, open a web browser and navigate to http://login.postini.com.

Your login at Postini is your full Carthage e-mail address (i.e., jmississippi@carthage.edu).  If you experience problems when logging into Postini, please refer to the Recovering Lost Passwords article under Related Articles.

Once successfully logged into Postini, you should see five tabs across the top, the fifth one being Archive -- click this tab.  On the next screen, set your search criteria to find specific messages and click Search Archive.

When your search results appear, check the box next to the message(s) you wish to recover, and click the Recover Selected button at the top (or bottom) of the screen.  Almost immediately you should see the message(s) in your inbox with you as the sender and the subject beginnging with Archive export:.
