Macintosh VPN Access

How to use and install Cisco AnyConnect VPN – For Macintosh

** You must be given the proper Novell rights in order for this to work **
VPN access is only granted to administrative users who need them.  Contact computing@help.carthage.edu to request access rights to use VPN if you feel you need it.

 

To Install  (First-time only)

1)      Navigate a browser to https://vpn.carthage.edu (notice the s in https – this is necessary!!)

2)      Login with your Novell username and password.

3)      The VPN Client install will auto-detect your Operating System and install the appropriate version of the client.

4)      You will need to approve the installation of the Cisco ‘applet’ (mini-application).

5)      After the automatic install you will see an icon added up on the Menu bar.

6)      The Cisco VPN client will also start running.

7)      You are now connected!

8)      To disconnect you can click the icon and select Disconnect.

To Use

1)      You DO NOT have to navigate to https://vpn.carthage.edu to use the client; that is only for installation.

2)      Click on Applications --> Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client

3)      Make sure Connect to: says vpn.carthage.edu

4)      Enter your Novell username and password

5)      Click Connect

6)      You are now connected

7)      To disconnect click the icon on the Menu bar and select Disconnect
