Adding a Printer via iPrint

Use the following instructions to add a printer to the configuration of a Windows- based computer.Throughout these instructions, watch for blocked messages and pop-ups in your browser, such as those that ask about adding an ActiveX control.Allow pop-ups and installations as needed.

1.USE INTERNET EXPLORER ONLY to go to http://iprint.carthage.edu/ipp

2.Click on the iPrint link in the lefthand frame.

3.Click on the link on the right side:iPrint Client with the corresponding -bit machine.

(To deterimine what -bit machine you have, click the Windows or start button, right-click on Computer, select Properties.  Under the System will be the system type such as 64-bit operating system.)

4.Click on Run when prompted to install the iPrint software (nipp.exe).

5.Click on Run when asked to verify the Publisher.

6.Click on Next to install the software.

7.Click on Finish when the software is ready.

8.Close your browser. Reopen your browser as an administrator by clicking the start button then right-clicking Internet Explorer and selecting "Run as administrator." Now go to http://iprint.carthage.edu/ipp. You should see a list of various printers. Locate the one that you want, and click on it.

9.You may be prompted to re-login with your Novell login and password.

10.Click on OK to install the printer.The printer drivers take 1-3 minutes to install.You will receive a message indicating that the printer installed successfully.

When finished, the printer is ready for use.
