How to Use the Kurzweil Scanner to read text out loud
The Kurzweil scanner is located in the Hedberg Library, west of the MyCarthage Resource Center
- At the Novell login screen on the Kurzweil station, click Workstation Only and enter educ for both the username and password.
- Place the material to be scanned in the upper right hand corner of the glass on the scanner and close the lid.
- Wait for the Kurweil 3000 software to load.
- Click Scan on the menu bar at the top of the window.
- Wait for scanner to display a preview.
- Put on headphones to listen and click Read on the menu bar at the top of the window.
- To repeat: change the page(s) to be read, click Scan at the top left of the window, then follow from Step 6.
- Remove the material from the scanner.
- Log off the computer.
