Follow the steps below to take audio (MP3) files from Blackboard and put them onto a CD or an iPod.You will need iTunes software (even if you don’t have an iPod.)It is a free download from itunes.com and will run on Windows or Mac.Download and install it and then follow the instructions below:
Login to Blackboard and locate the file with the MP3 extension.
Right-click the file and select "Save Target As"
Select a location to save your file.Change the name if you want.
Launch iTunes
Click the File menu and click Import
Locate and click on the MP3 file you downloaded in steps 2 and 3.Click Open.
In iTunes, under Library, locate the file you downloaded.(You may want to click the “Name” heading to sort your items by name to find it more easily.)
Repeat these steps for any additional files you have to download.
Assign each file with a “genre” of something like “Class files” by typing that in the Genre field of the item.
Create a Playlist of the items as follows:
Click the File menu and click New Playlist
Name your playlist
Highlight the songs you want. Drag them into your playlist located on the left side.
If you want to create a Smart PlayList of the items as follows:
Click the File menu and click New SmartPlaylist.
In the dialog box, click the drop-down menu where it says Artist and select Genre.
In the box to the right of “Contains”, type “Class files” or whatever you entered in step 9, above.
Click OK to create the Playlist
To put your files onto your iPod:
Plug your iPod into your computer
Drag the Playlist you created above to your iPod as you would any other music files.
On your iPod, access the files under Music then Playlists.
To make an audio CD:
Put a blank CD in your CDRW drive.
If a message comes up asking you what you want to do with the CD, click “Take no Action.”
In iTunes, click on the Playlist that you’d like to put on your CD.
Click the File menu, and then click Burn Playlist to Disc option.
If your playlist contains too much music to fit onto one CD, it will prompt you to either cancel or to span your playlist over multiple CDs. It seems like the cutoff is around 20 songs or about 1.4 hours of music. Look at the bottom bar of iTunes when you have your list highlighted to see how much music you have. Note that while it might say the songs take up only 75MB of space in iTunes, they will take much more in audio format on your CD.
If there is sufficient space, the “burning” (writing) process will begin immediately. You can check the progress at the top of the iTunes screen. When your CD drive stops humming, your CD should be done. The process may take a few minutes. You can only burn to each CD once, so make sure your playlist is correct.
